تیرا وجود نظر کی تلاش میں ہے ابھی
یہ خاک اپنے شرر کی تلاش میں ہے ابھی
Your being is still in search of vision,
This dust is still in search of its own spark.
کتنی ہی چاہے گا منزل پہ کارواں اپنا
اگرچہ رحمتِ سفر کی تلاش میں ہے ابھی
Our caravan will surely reach its destination,
Though it is still in search of provisions for the journey.
الفت سے ڈھونڈنے کو لائی تھی آرزو جس کو
وہ آفتاب سحر کی تلاش میں ہے ابھی
That which desire brought from the horizon,
That sun is still in search of dawn.
تری نوا میں کمالِ ہنر تو ہے، پھر بھی
ذرا سے خونِ جگر کی تلاش میں ہے ابھی
There is mastery of art in your melody, yet still,
It longs for a drop of heart’s own blood.
کبھی نہ کبھی تو حقیقت سے آشنا ہو کر
زمانہ ذوقِ بشر کی تلاش میں ہے ابھی
One day it will understand, once it grasps the truth
The world is still in search of the superhuman.
حضورِ عشق میں آئی تو ہے خرد، لیکن
وہاں بھی تلخیِ سود و ضر کی تلاش میں ہے ابھی
Reason has indeed stepped into the presence of love,
But even there, it is still in search of profit and loss.
مرا غزالِ سُوادِ خُتن میں آ پہنچا
سنا ہے اپنے ہی گھر کی تلاش میں ہے ابھی
