About this course

The most important worship ritual of Islam is the prayer. A little deliberation shows that the essence of religion is comprehension of God and an expression of humility and meekness before Him. Regarding prayer, in the Qur’an, Allah Almighty says:

إِنَّ الصَّلاَةَ كَانَتْ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ كِتَابًا مَّوْقُوتًا (103:4)

Indeed, the prayer is a duty incumbent on the faithful to be discharged at appointed hours. (4:103)

The most prominent expression of this essence is worship. Invoking and glorifying Him, praising and thanking Him and kneeling and prostrating before Him are the practical manifestations of worship. The prayer is nothing but an expression of these manifestations and, with graceful poise, combines all of them.

This course consists of 9 modules, and will enlighten you about the details of the prayer's history in Module 1. Moving forward, Module 2 discusses the objectives and pre-requisites of the prayer, providing a foundation for the subsequent lessons.

In Modules 3, we explore the prayer timings and rak'at (which are the units of prayer), and concession in the prayer in Module 4. As we progress to Module 5, the focus shifts to the congregational prayer, Modules 6 guides you through the process of rectifying mistakes in the prayer while last 3 Modules illuminate the etiquette surrounding this sacred practice in a three-part exploration.

Join us on this enlightening journey and understand the details of the Muslim Prayer.
