Stylistics of the Qur’an

I am Shehzad Saleem, and I currently serve as the Director of Education at the Ghamidi Center of Islamic Learning. My educational background includes a PhD in Qur'an History from the University of Wales, where I specialized in the subject. I also am privileged to be a student of Javed Ahmad Ghamidi, a highly accomplished religious scholar and researcher. 

The Ghamidi Center, an initiative of Al-Mawrid US, is a registered charitable organization based in the United States. Our primary aim is to provide education on the moral, ethical, and human values imparted by Islam. Through our endeavours, we strive to foster a deep understanding of these teachings among individuals.

The Qur'an, an unparalleled literary masterpiece, holds a unique position among human literature. It is of utmost importance for any serious student of this sacred text to possess a fundamental understanding of its genre, which sets it apart from the books we are accustomed to.

This course is meant to introduce the student to the Stylistics found in the structure and arrangement of the Qur’an. It will show that this divine book has some verse patterns and styles, which should be understood to comprehend the Coherence of this divine book.

The content has been arranged into 6 modules:

1. Address or Khitab of the Qur’an
2. Parenthetic Sentences or Jumulah Mu‘ taradah
3. Textual Insertion or Tadmin
4. Degrees in Verbs (Madārij al-af‘āl)
5. Specific Connotation by Alif Lām (Takhṣīṣ)
6. Oaths (Aqsām)
